Evaluate performance of current uniforms.

Test out new product ideas.

Gather data on uniform wearers.

Amazon Ignite Live is an annual event that brings together over 2,000 Amazon Delivery Service Partner (DSP) owners to exchange knowledge, share experiences, and engage with Amazon leadership to help shape the future of customer delivery. The event also provides Amazon with the opportunity to showcase product and technology innovations developed over the past year to support DSP owners and their Delivery Associates (DA).

As the uniform designers for Amazon, we are invited each year to host a booth at the event to highlight the uniform collection, including new styles introduced that year or those planned for the future. This event serves as a valuable opportunity for us to interact directly with DSP owners, gather feedback on the uniforms, and better understand the needs of the DAs who wear them.

Our booth at Amazon Ignite Live features our full collection of uniforms, including new pieces and samples of upcoming designs, for DSP owners to experience in person.

PROBLEM STATEMENT

How do we design uniforms better suited to DAs’ needs?

We value feedback from the people actually wearing the uniforms to ensure that our design intentions translate effectively in real-world, on-the-job conditions. This insight helps us better understand the wearers' needs, as well as how they use and experience the uniforms in their daily work. Ultimately, we rely on this data to guide our design decisions and make improvements to both future and current products.

Our main goals from conducting the survey are:

  • How is the fit of the uniform on DAs?

Receiving feedback on the fit gives us an opportunity to evaluate if the fit needs to be updated or if we need to add any additional sizes to the size range.

  • What environment are the uniforms being worn in?

Understanding the environment DAs work in informs our decisions on fabrics and performance of fabrics to help DAs better regulate their temperature on the job.

  • What new products are DAs interested in?

Testing out new product ideas gives us a chance to see the responses to those ideas and better understand what other uniform items DAs need to help them perform better on the job.

PROCESS

Surveying DSP Owners & DAs

Create two surveys, one for DSP Owners and one for DAs.

1

Ask DSP Owners stopping by our booth to take the survey incentivized by free swag.

2

Ask DSP Owners to send the survey to their DAs to take, incentivized by a gift for the DSP with the most DA responses.

3

Leave the survey open for 2 weeks, the week of the event and one week after to collect responses.

4

After the 2 weeks, gather responses and create a summary analysis.

5

Present summary analysis to team and recap the event and any feedback received at the event.

6

Discuss improvements needed based on survey feedback and finalize decisions on new product launches.

7

The survey sign we created for the booth, featuring QR codes that direct attendees to the survey.

Having DSP owners try on the uniform pieces and showcasing their functionality to them.
